Uncover the 12 Most Exciting Gorean Slave Positions

Gorean slave positions are a defining characteristic of the fictional world created by John Norman and are a great way to show dominance and submission in a BDSM setting. Gorean slave positions are signs of submission from the slave (in the Gor-Saga, also named Kajira) to their Master. So, what are some common positions portrayed in those famous erotic sci-fi novels and represented in the Gorean lifestyle?

Here are some Gorean slave positions inspired by the Gor saga:

  • Nadu
  • Bara
  • Second Obeisance (Bellying)
  • Bracelets
  • Hair/Leading, and more

The Gor saga is set in a society where slavery is an accepted and integral part of everyday life. The positions a slave may be required to assume in the presence of a free person are numerous and varied. These positions are meant to reflect the physical and emotional submission of the slave to their Master or Mistress.

The slave positions described in the novels are excellent for use in a BDSM context, e.g., within a consensual role-playing game or fantasy scenario. The style and execution of these positions or commands can vary based on the Gorean city (according to the Gor Sage), your preferences (in your BDSM plays), or the time they are performed.

This article will go through 12 exciting Gorean slave positions, spicing up your BDSM lifestyle more than you can imagine.

Position No. 1: Nadu

Nadu is one of the most common Gorean slave positions. The Nadu position is described in detail in “Assassin of Gor,” the fifth novel in John Norman’s Gorean series.

Gorean position
Gorean position: Nadu

The Nadu position is a complete and total form of submission. In this position, the slave kneels with her thighs spread wide apart, her back straight, and her head held high.

Her hands are placed gently on her thighs, and her shoulders are wide open to expose her breasts thoroughly. In this posture, the slave is completely vulnerable and at the mercy of her Master or Mistress.

Norman explains the Nadu position also in “Swordsmen of Gor as follows:

“In nadu, as the back is straight, the shoulders are back, accentuating the delights of the bosom. The widening of the knees suggests the vulnerability of the slave and displays the softness of the open, exposed thighs. The placement of the palms down on the thighs suggests vulnerability. Apart and down, to the sides, suggests they will be held as they are and thus are not permitted to fend or thwart a caress. The kneeling position itself is symbolic of submission. The head-up displays the beauty of the Master’s property. In this attitude, the badge of his ownership, her collar, is well exhibited. To be sure, this can differ from Master to Master. Some prefer the slave’s head to be submissively lowered. The slave’s eyes may or may not be permitted to meet the Master’s eyes without permission.”

“Nadu!” he snapped.

She swiftly turned, facing him, and dropped to her knees. She knelt back on her heels, her back straight, her hands on her thighs, her head up, her knees wide.

It was the position of the pleasure slave.”

Position No. 2: Bara

In the Bara position, the slave lies prone on their belly, their heads tilted towards the left. The slave crosses their ankles and wrist behind her back in anticipation of bondage or spanking.

The purpose of the Bara position is to present the slave’s body in a more provocative and sexually alluring way and prepare the slave to be bound by her owner or Master. It is a position of submission and obedience, demonstrating the slave’s willingness to display herself and submit to her Master’s desires.

“`Bara,’ said Mincon to Tula. ‘Bara,’ I said to Feiqa. Both slaves immediately went to their bellies, their heads to the left, their wrists crossed behind their backs, and their ankles crossed. It is a common binding position.”Mercenaries of Gor, Page 145.

Position No. 3: Second Obeisance (Bellying)

In the Belly position, the slave lies face down on the ground or floor, with her hands placed next to her bare body and her legs slightly apart. Her forehead rests on the ground, and her breasts and stomach are pressed against the floor.

The Belly position displays complete submission and vulnerability, as the slave cannot see her owner or Master and is entirely at their mercy.

It is often used as a punishment for disobedience or as a prelude to sexual activity, as it exposes the slave’s body in a highly vulnerable and submissive way.

“Stop,” he said. “To your belly.”

Then I was on my belly, on the tiles, my hands at the sides of my body, prone, before the curule chair.’ – Kajira of Gor, Page 427.

Position No. 4: Bracelets

The slave sits on her knees, her head floating freely in the air, her wrists behind her back, her shoulders pushed back, and her breasts pumped outward.

“She put her head in the air and placed her hands behind her back.”

“Bracelets!”, I said in Gorean, harshly. – Hunters of Gor, Page 146.

Position No. 5: Hair/Leading

The slave stands straight with her feet flat on the ground and bows gracefully with her hair falling to show respect to her Master. Then, the Master decides what he wants to do with the slave’s hair as they are now for the Master to play with.

“I looked at the girl. I nodded to her to approach me. She did so. I held my left hand open at my waist. She stiffened and looked at me angrily. I opened and closed my left hand once. I saw her training in Gorean customs had been thorough. But she never thought that such a gesture would be useful to her. She came beside me and a bit behind me and, crouching, put her head down deeply. I fastened my hand in her hair. She winced. Women are helpless in this position.” – Beasts of Gor, Page 409

Position No. 6: Collar

The collar is also referred to as the ‘Position of Female Submission.’ The slave sits on her knees, arms extended upward, and hands crossed at the wrists. She bows towards her Master’s feet with her head down in supplication. The position “Collar Me” is often used in BDSM to put a collar on the submissive. It’s rather used for this purpose on Gor; since there all slaves are permanently and irrevocably collared.

In Gor, however, the command “Collar!” also invokes a similar posture, but the kajira moves in close faces the master, and stands if the master is standing so that he can easily examine her collar and/or read what is written on it.

“Collar!” I snapped. Instantly she faced me, holding her hands slightly behind her, and lifted her chin.

In this position, the collar may be conveniently read.” – Swordsmen of Gor, Page 17.

Position No. 7: Display or Examination

In this position, the slave stands straight with her legs widely spread apart. The head is pushed slightly to the back with her hands placed behind the back of her neck.

The position is challenging to balance. In addition, the adjustments required to keep this position will make it difficult for the slave to move, making her vulnerable.

Her body posture will make her helplessness visible, providing cues of obedience and servitude.

The placement of her hands behind the neck will make it even more difficult for her to hide her beautifully displayed bosoms.

“ “Have that one stand to be examined,” said a man.

“Cotina, stand, examination position!” snapped Targo.” – Prize of Gor, Page 247.

Position No. 8: First Obedience

The slave kneels to the floor, her head down as she places her cheek on her Master’s feet to kiss them gently as a sign of love and submission. Her palms, too, are on the floor, placed on either side of her head.

“I pointed to the sand before me. She immediately, frightened, dropped to her knees and again put her head down to the sand, the palms of her hands, too, on the sand.”

“First obeisance position,” I said.

She put the black wine to the side on the deck, and put her head to the boards, before me, her hands beside the sides of her head.  – Vagabonds of Gor, Page 205.

Position No. 9: Lesha

In the Lesha position, the slave kneels or stands with her hands behind her back ready to be bound with a bracelet. The slave’s chin is lifted up, her head is tilted to the left, and her back faces the Master so as to prevent direct eye contact with her Master. In this position, the slave offers the Master to leash the collar, which is around her neck.

“Lesha,” he said. Immediately, responsive to this command, I flung my wrists behind me, separated by some two inches, and lifted my chin, my head turned to the left. – Dancer of Gor, Page 365.

Position No. 10: Sula

In Sula, the slave lies on her back, her hands placed on the sides of her body with palms facing up. Her legs are wide open to make her genitalia visible to the Master.

” “Sula, Kajira!” said the man. She slid her legs from under her and lay on her back, her hands at her sides, palms up, her legs open” – Explorers of Gor.

“Why had he not, at least, issued the “Sula!” command? That was one of several commands she had been trained to respond to instantly. Upon hearing this command, the slave immediately assumes a supine position, her hands at her sides, palms up, and her legs open.” – Prize of Gor.

Position No. 11: Kneeling to the Whip

Kneeling to the Whip is a punishment position. The position reminds the slave of their position and reiterates that the Master has the ultimate power.

When the Master commands the slave to assume this position, she kneels down, burying her head onto the ground. Her arms are beneath her body, and her wrists are locked together as if she is apologizing to her Master.

“I went to Targo, trembling, and knelt at his feet… I crossed my wrists beneath me and touched my head to the floor, exposing the bow of my back. It is the submissive posture of a slave girl who is to be punished. It is called Kneeling to the Whip.” – Captive of Gor.

Position No. 12: All Fours

The slave will be on their hands and knees in this position, and the only movement she can make would be a crawl.

Gorean positon: all fours

“A slave is sometimes put to all fours, that she may move thusly, accompanying masters. In this posture, she cannot suddenly run, or dart away. (…) In other situations, the posture may be imposed upon her as a discipline, to position her for animal usage, to remind her that she is a slave, and so on.” – Mariners of Gor.

Final Thoughts on Gorean Slave Positions

If you’ve tried the most common BDSM slave positions, it’s definitely time to start exploring the slave positions depicted in the Gor saga of John Norman.

Gorean slave positions are part of the Gorean subculture. They are a great way to enjoy executing Dominance and submission and experiencing the presentation of the sub’s body in BDSM.

The positions help the Master assume a more powerful position and test the loyalty of the slave toward their Master. Some of these positions are straightforward, and some require more practice. However, all of these positions should turn you and your partner into sex-hungry freaks that can’t get enough of each other.
